“Pley is the leading toy rental company, helping smart parents save money, reduce clutter and help the environment, while raising brighter kids. Want your kids to play with the best toys without the expense or clutter? Be a smart parent – rent unlimited toys at Pley.”
Now the mission of Pley was to reduce children’s screen time and allow for creativity building Legos. I love Legos so I signed up right away! But as a technology educator, I do believe some structured screen time can be beneficial, especially if it allows children to be creative, learn how to utilize a device as a learning/creating tool (not a gaming device), and can be incorporated with manipulative materials (like Legos). I wanted to create a challenge, which I hope Pley picks up and encourages, where once the build is complete, the creating continues through stop-motion animation.
I wanted to create a challenge, which I hope Pley picks up and encourages, where once the build is complete, the creating continues through stop-motion animation. I created an example video using my iPad, a few apps (I’ll name them later), and a Lego Spiderman set from Pley.
Apps used: LEGO Movie Maker, YAKiT Kids, & iMovie

Hopefully, Pley will be interested in supporting this Challenge and cross-post on their blog. If that happens, I’ll link to it here.
