If you haven’t seen my previous post, which talks about how educators have adapted college basketball brackets into fun competitions for children’s literature or technology tools, then make sure you check that out.
I have been offering a technology bracket for the past four years for my teachers to be introduced/reminded of various technology they can use in their classrooms (Past Winners: 2021: Google Classroom, 2022: Print Friendly & PDF[extension], and 2023: Google Classroom).
This year, I revamped it by creating regions centered around new or updated features within several Google Suite products, namely: Gmail, Drive, Docs, & Slides. I had a website which the teachers could go to in order to check out the bracket (embedded below), as well as get their own copy, and learn about the various features (linked on the supplemental pages of the website). Each voting day an email went out to the faculty & staff with a Google Form to select which feature should move on.
At the end of the month, after several weeks of voting, I announced our winner to be (insert drum roll here): From the Gmail region, ‘Schedule Send’!
